My First Mac Post

well, it’s taken me a few days and evenings working through it, but i finally managed to get MarsEdit working against my custom little blog here… and i gotta tell ya, trying to debug a client making metaWeblog callbacks via XMLRPC isn’t fun – nope, it’s a pain in the ass.

First blog post from my mac with MarsEdit

naturally it’s not all roses, though… i’m not getting an error in w.bloggar on win7, and i’m not sure how to get it working across both clients – now i’m wondering if there might be a way for me to detect which client is making the XMLRPC calls and if so, serve up the appropriate XML back… but that’s for another night.

i’m almost giddy that after having not even looked at this code in years, i got the damn thing working. i’ll be damned.

  2. thanks man, i’m pretty stoked i got the damn thing to finally work — been a serious pain in the ass trying to debug and just figure out what the effin problem was and how to fix/code around it. ugh.

dude, i’m starting to get used to the 27″ and loving it! takes some getting used to initially, for sure, but man… i’m totally diggin all the extra pixels :)

starting to think about buying some extra RAM for it, though – really think they should up it to 8gb for these quadcore systems by default, mang.

  3. I’ve got 8gb on my i7 and it rocks. Totally worth it, especially for CS5 apps.

  4. I just put 8 in mine (a lowly 22″ one) and it’s the only way to go. Like a new computer, really. Now I’m going to get rid of my FW400 drives and get native FW800’s and it’ll jam.

  5. if i have 2x2gb in mine at the moment (4gb total), i should be able to buy 2x4gb ram sticks and install it in the two empty slots, right?

that’d bring me up to 12gb, which sounds perfect… watched a youtube video the other day on how to install ram, and looks easy as shit.
